Description
An exciting full time permanent position has recently opened up in one of Saskatchewans top legal firms. Our client was recently voted as one of the top employers in Saskatoon and is now recruiting for an experienced Legal Assistant to support their senior corporate/commercial lawyer.
Job Summary:
To provide high level legal assistant support to a senior corporate/commercial lawyer
Key responsibilities include:
Work under the direct supervision of the lawyer in reviewing & preparing legal documents, maintaining records and files
Typing, editing and drafting various documents
Acting on client instructions & reporting to financial institutions & other parties
Handling corporate & residential real estate transactions including mortgage & other security documentation
Organizing documentation related to financings, mergers, acquisitions & closings
Preparation of closing books
Requisitioning due diligence searches
Monthly client billing
Qualifications:
Graduated from a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program
Minimum of 3-5 directly related years of experience working in a law firm
Extensive experience working with the Land Registry, Corporations Branch and the Personal Property Registry is essential
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Ability to provide fast, efficient service while also being thorough and accurate
Ability to multi-task & have confidence in working independently given brief instructions
Superior degree of accuracy & strong organizational skills
Ability to delegate, adapt to flexible scheduling and communicate effectively.
Expertise in Word & a good working knowledge of Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills
